In honor of Word Refugee Day, we're launching a writing contest! Refugee youth ages 10 to 18 who are interested in submitting should write something exploring the theme of "belonging." It can be a short story, poem or personal essay/memoir and may be submitted in English, Turkish, Arabic, or Spanish. Send your submissions to contact@kalemproject.org by January 20th with the name of the school you attend and a few sentences about your background. Stories may not exceed 1000 words. The top three entries will be published on our website. The winning entry will get $100, second place $50 and third place $25!
