WORKSHOPS

Kalem Project conducts creative writing workshops for refugee children ages 9 to 17.  Our first U.S. workshop, done in partnership with Miry's List, was held online in 2023.  Additional workshops will take place later this year.  

Kalem Project is also planning two workshops in Istanbul, one in March and another this summer.  These workshops will be in-person and are being organized through direct outreach to refugee communities and local schools. 

In addition to workshops, Kalem Project will sponsor writing contests, like the World Refugee Day storytelling competition we just announced (click on the banner at the top of the page for details).  Kalem Project will also publish anthologies of the work submitted by refugee children.
