Filiz is a high school sophomore in Los Angeles. Since she was ten, Filiz has been volunteering as a tutor and youth ambassador with organizations who help settle refugee families here in Los Angeles and in Istanbul, Turkiye. In middle school, Filiz won a community engagement award that helped Small Projects of Istanbul provide school supplies for sixty refugee children.
From a young age, Filiz loved telling stories, which led her to participate in various creative writing workshops.While developing her writing at the Interlochen Center for the Arts last summer, Filiz had the inspiration for Kalem Project.
Filiz loves writing flash fiction and creative non fiction and spending time with her tabby cat Tarcin.

Doğa is a high school junior living in Ankara, Türkiye. He is passionate about acting and biology, and he is the Editor-in-Chief and co-founder of his school’s newspaper.
Doğa hopes to use his knowledge to help others in the fields of health and equal rights for a sustainable future.
Doğa has a cat named Mira. He enjoys reading, watching TV and learning new languages.
